We’re delighted to share that our Can Feixes Chardonnay 2022 has been awarded 94 points and received a “Highly Recommended” rating at the Decanter Spanish Whites Blind Tasting in July’s print and digital editions.
Described by Decanter’s panel as showing “intense, ripe stone fruit with a very spicy character, notes of curry powder and exotic spices,” our 2022 vintage was further praised for its “savoury palate” and “gastronomic style.” The panel - awarding scores of 93, 95, and 95 from individual reviewers - concludes the review by calling it “an accomplished and ambitious wine” —a sentiment we receive with gratitude, and is a meaningful acknowledgment of the work we quietly commit to each year, both in the vineyard and in the cellar.
Our Can Feixes Chardonnay reflects our ongoing pursuit of precision and balance. Sourced exclusively from no more than2.5 hectares of our finest estate-grown Chardonnay—specifically from the high-altitude “Ros” and “Casa” parcels—the grapes are carefully hand-harvested, gently pressed, and fermented in French oak barrels. There, the wine rests on its lees for nine months, with regular bâtonnage to build texture and depth.
We deliberately avoid malolactic fermentation, a choice that preserves the grape’s natural acidity—made possible by the parcels elevation and the cool night temperatures. This restraint maintains the wine’s freshness and tension, providing a vibrant counterpoint to the creamy, layered character developed through barrel fermentation and lees aging.
The result is a wine of clarity and complexity, crafted to evolve gracefully in bottle.
We’re grateful to Decanter’s tasting panel for this generous recognition—and even more so to those who will explore this wine in their own time.
